Project Overview
Key Requirements
Oakfield Road involved the comprehensive transformation of an existing commercial property, previously used as a children’s bursary, into a fully refurbished and finished residential property.
The building required considerable preparation before the main construction and finishing works could begin. The project therefore called for a contractor capable of managing the complete process, from enabling works, asbestos removal and damp remediation through to bespoke joinery, interior finishes and landscaping.
The Build Process
The project began with a programme of enabling works and the careful removal of asbestos from the existing building.
Tanking and damp-proofing works were then completed through the relevant areas of the property, including works within the basement, to create a dry and suitable foundation for the subsequent refurbishment.
Once the building had been prepared, attention turned to the internal conversion and fit-out. New kitchens and bathrooms were installed, supported by bespoke handmade joinery designed to suit the individual spaces and character of the property.
The work continued through every stage of the interior, with close attention given to the finishes and coordination between the different trades. External landscaping completed the scheme and helped bring the building and its surroundings together as one finished project.
Outcome
The completed project represents a full end-to-end transformation, taking a former commercial building through extensive remediation, conversion and final fit-out to create a refined residential property.
From the early enabling and damp-proofing works to the bespoke joinery, kitchens, bathrooms and landscaping, every stage was carefully coordinated to maintain quality and consistency throughout.
